Nick Barnett – a quick history!

Fairly soon after leaving my Secondary school in Sussex I realised ( after a trip to South Africa) that I was not going to be England’s greatest fast bowler, and another career path had to be decided upon. After one or two false starts, I found myself standing on the steps of the Worlds  best known mining company – De Beers Consolidated Mines.

My years with them were a fantastic experience, and ingrained in me not only a love of Diamonds, but also a wealth of knowledge in cutting and polishing these beautiful stones. In the 1980’s I went to work for one of Europe’s largest Precious Stone Dealers and I spent some years trading  both in London and Antwerp and working closely with Manufacturing Jewellers both in this country and overseas.

Setting up my own Company in the 1990’s enabled me to gain more in depth knowledge of stones and manufacturing processes. In 2006 I decided to go full time into designing and making  jewellery. This new collection of  Hand Made Jewellery is a culmination of over 30 years  experience of working in Hatton Garden.
